Household hazardous wastes cannot be disposed of in the landfill or at the Recycling Center. Each year, the City of Cody, City of Powell, Park County Landfill, and Park County Weed and Pest work together to sponsor a Household Hazardous Waste Day. When these are scheduled, they will be posted on this website and advertised in the newspaper.

The City of Cody does not provide a pick up service for recyclables; however, in most business districts, cardboard containers have been provided and are picked up on a regular basis.
The City of Cody does not pay customers for recyclables. There is a program in which the City does pay schools for aluminum cans which have been donated in their behalf. Residents may choose to donate their cans to the area school of their choice. At the end of the school year, the total pounds donated for each school is tallied, and the school is paid 25¢ per pound. For more information, view the Aluminum Can Contest brochure.
Information on the proper disposal of sharp items can be found in the Proper Sharps Disposal brochure.
